A wedding directory that tells you the truth

Most wedding directories sell their top spots. The venues you see first are the ones paying the most that month, not the ones most likely to be right for you. We think that is backwards, so we built the opposite.

How we are different

On VOWÉA, position in search is never for sale. Venues rank on the things that actually matter to a couple: how complete and honest their listing is, how quickly they reply to enquiries, and how close they are to where you want to marry. A venue cannot pay to jump the queue, and we have written a test into the software that fails the build if anyone ever tries to make it possible.

We also publish real numbers. Where a venue will only quote in person, we say so. Where a price looks low until you read the minimum spend, we tell you the questions to ask. The things nobody explains until after you have signed, we put on the page.

Who we are for

We launched in London and the counties around it: Essex, Hertfordshire, Surrey, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Kent. We pay particular attention to celebrations the big directories treat as an afterthought, including South Asian and halal weddings, multi day events, and venues that welcome a nikah, a mandap or a chuppah with the same care as any other day.

The Magazine

Alongside the directory we publish a magazine. It is where we write about what weddings really cost, how to read a venue quote, and the couples whose days went beautifully. It is editorial, not advertising. When we recommend something, it is because we believe it, not because someone paid for the mention.
